Frozen liberals,
With the bitter cold now upon us and holiday stresses approaching, now’s a good time to take a break and enjoy a drink or two with your liberal friends in the warm back room of the Piper Down. Join us this Friday (the 11th) from 6:30-9:30 for the only regular Drinking Liberally of the month.
We’ll have an irregular meet up on Thursday the 17th though, as we band together in gentile solidarity to see the Temple Square Christmas Lights (which now feature some energy-conserving LED bulbs, by the way). We’ll be meeting at the Beerhive (128 S. Main Street) at 6:30 and walking the block and a half to Temple Square promptly at 7:00. After the lights we’ll head back to the Beerhive to warm up and have another drink or two.
We don’t have anything to do with them, but there are a couple of Santa pub crawls in Salt Lake coming up this month, one on the 12, and one on the 18th. We’ve got the information on our website here: http://drinkingliberallyslc.org/2009/12/02/santa-pub-crawl-2009/
Earlier in the week you received an e-mail from the Drinking Liberally national team about the need to raise funds in order to keep Drinking Liberally viable. We wouldn’t have been doing this for over 4 years in Salt Lake if we didn’t believe that Drinking Liberally didn’t have value. In a state so saturated with conservatives, we try to create connections between fellow liberals in town. And the national Drinking Liberally organization is trying to do this on a larger scale.
So if you also see value in Drinking Liberally, both on a local and a national level, please consider donating: http://livingliberally.org/donate
See you tomorrow,
Heather, Laura, Jeremiah
