Extended ski season liberals,
There is no Drinking Liberally meetup tonight since it’s one of those odd 5th Fridays of a month. For the month of May we’ll be meeting the 2nd and 3rd Fridays (the 14th and the 21st) instead of our regular 2nd and 4th. Confusing, we know. But just pay attention to these e-mails and you’ll be fine.
That’s all the news for now, we hope to see you in a couple weeks!

Earthy liberals,
Last week we told you that Heather will no longer be an active host of Drinking Liberally. This week we want to introduce you to the folks who agreed to help us facilitate the meetups (we may or may not have gotten them drunk before we asked): Barry Bonifas, Curtis Haring, and Steven DeBirk.
They’ve all been coming to Drinking Liberally for quite a while, so hopefully you all already know them. We look forward to having them with us and hope you’ll welcome them as well.
This Friday we’ll be doing our usual thing in the temple bar (back room) of Piper Down from 6:30 – 9:30.
See you tomorrow!

Living Liberally will be at Netroots Nation, the progressive event of the year. Will you?

Fellow taxpaying liberals,
Wow, what a great crowd last week for our candidate Meet & Drink! Thanks to everyone who joined us; hopefully you walked away with your questions answered. And thanks of course to the candidates who were able to join us, and best of luck to all of them.
This Friday isn’t a regular Drinking Liberally meetup night, but we’ll be joining with the ACLU of Utah at the monthly Drag Queen Bingo. Each month Drag Queen Bingo benefits a different local charity, and this month they’ve chosen the ACLU. It sounds like a lot of fun, so hopefully you will join us. More info on our Drinking Liberally SLC website.
Two Fridays from now is our regular Drinking Liberally meetup, but it’s also the Salt Lake County Dem’s Politisauce dinner fundraiser. We know many of you plan to attend, so we figured if there was enough interest we could get a Drinking Liberally table. We’d only need 8 people and it would bring the cost to $31.25 per person. Tickets need to be purchased by tomorrow (Friday) though, so if you’re interested let us know soon by replying to this e-mail.
One last thing: After nearly 5 years as the key host and organizer of the Salt Lake Drinking Liberally chapter, it’s with great sadness that we announce that Heather is resigning. She’ll still be around as a regular member and we’re sure she’ll continue drinking liberally. But 5 years is a long time, and we want to give her a heartfelt thanks for all she’s done for the group. Drinking Liberally would not be where it is today without her. So buy her a drink next time you see her, won’t you?
Next week we’ll introduce the people we’ve found to replace her.
Meeting and drinking liberals,

The ACLU of Utah is the lucky charity selected to benefit from the monthly Drag Queen Bingo fundraiser in April. Since it sounds like a lot of fun and it’s for a good cause, we thought we’d let our fellow liberal drinkers know about it. Hopefully you can come out and participate.

Doors open at 6:15 with the show starting at 7, and it will be held at the First Baptist Church at 777 S and 1300 E. See you there!
Fool-less April liberals,
Our April 9th candidate “Meet & Drink” event is looking like it’s going to be (as KSL quoted VP Biden) “a big f—— deal”. We have 18 candidates confirmed so far, ranging from County Council races to US Senate races. These are the people you’ll be voting for, so start thinking of questions for your candidates now.
