Firstly, thanks to the Utah State Hispanic Democratic Caucus (USHDC) for joining us last Friday!
This Friday we’ll be back to talking amongst ourselves in the back room of the Piper Down, 6:30-9:30. Also this weekend is a Rally to Save the American Dream at the capitol building. It’s to show solidarity with the people rallying in Wisconsin (and public unions in general).
And Monday is when Tim DeChristopher (our guest speaker a few weeks ago) goes to trial for throwing a wrench in a federal land lease auction. There are events this weekend leading up to the rally on Monday. See here and here for more information.
So, plenty to do this weekend and plenty to talk about tomorrow night. See you then!

Drinking Liberally con los Latinos
Join the Utah State Hispanic Democratic Caucus (USHDC) for a round table discussion on the 2011 Legislative Session. From Sandstrom’s Arizona-style immigration enforcement bill to Dayton’s all-out assault on equal opportunity, the USHDC will discuss various bills affecting the Hispanic/Latino community and the broader concerns of what’s driving the conservative agenda.
Speaking will be officers of the USHDC Richard Jaramillo and Ernie Gamonal.
So please join us in the back room of Piper Down from 6:30-9:30 this Friday the 18th to discuss immigration and equal opportunity with USHDC. Stick around afterwards as there is plenty to talk about with the current legislative session.
See You There!

You might’ve noticed that the email last week was quite a bit different than what you’re used to seeing. There are different hosts for different weeks, and now the hosts will be sending out the email for their week. So last week the email was sent by Jason/Casey, and next week it’ll be Christian/Kelly Jo.
Speaking of next week, Christian has lined up some members of the Utah State Hispanic Democratic Caucus to speak and answer questions. Watch for more details in the email next week.
Tonight we’ll be in our usual spot doing our usual thing from 6:30-9:30 in the back room of the Piper Down. There’s PLENTY going on in the world, especially in Egypt, so come down, grab a drink, and chat with your liberal friends!
See you tonight!

P.S. We also want to say thanks to Tim DeChristopher and Peaceful Uprising for coming out a couple weeks ago. If you want to know more about Peaceful Uprising and the march on the 28th of this month, visit their website here.
