With all the bad news lately, isn’t it time we got together and laughed about some of it? Well we plan on doing just that this Friday when we go to Salt Lake Acting Company’s production of Saturday’s Voyeur!

It’s sold out, so if you don’t already have your tickets you’re kind of out of luck. If you did get tickets, Laura has reserved the green room from 6:30 to 7:30. Let us know if you plan on coming to the theater early for that. Remember, food and drink (yes, even the no-no juice) is allowed both in the green room and the theater.

Now, if you’re one of the unlucky who didn’t get tickets, you can still go to the Piper Down where Jason will be hosting a regular meetup. And then you’ll just have to catch Saturday’s Voyeur another time before the run ends on September 4th.

Guten Abend everyone!

It looks like Summer in Utah is doing its best Florida impression. Seriously, 80% humidity?! In the desert?! It is almost enough to drive one to drink. Speaking of which, we will have our regularly scheduled meeting this Friday, August 5th in the back bar at Piper Down (1492 South State St.) from 6:30 until 9:30 PM.

The big news has been the debt crisis compromise.

Matheson voted for it.

Matt Taibbi at Rolling Stone came down pretty hard on the Dems.

NYT’s Maureen Dowd made an extended horror movies analogy that attacked the Tea Party.

Orin Hatch continues to find things to complain about.

In other news:

Philpot is running for Congress.

Redistricting is going just about as bad as we expected.

So is Huntsman’s Presidential campaign.

A judge says Rumsfeld can be sued for his role in okaying torture.
