Hello everyone!
It is time for our regularly scheduled Drinking Liberally meet up tomorrow evening in the back room at Piper Down (1492 South, State St.). Join us from 6:30-9:30 PM.
Coming up on January 20th, Drinking Liberally will become Geeks Who Drink Liberally as we have the Geeks Who Drink crew out to emcee a political trivia night so get your teams together! Pete Ashdown, Ross Romero, and Ben McAdams are sponsoring the event for us, and Piper Down will be throwing in some stuff as well. So many thanks to them.
In case you’re not familiar with Geeks Who Drink, you can read about it here: http://www.geekswhodrink.com/97/For%20Players/ To get a feel for what GwD at Piper Down is like, read a recap of yesterday’s trivia night here. Teams are limited to 6 people, so keep that in mind as you think up your dream team of fellow liberal drinkers.
On February 10th we’ll have Salt Lake County Mayoral candidates Ross Romero and Ben McAdams out to talk to us, so keep that night open on your calendar!
We have a lot to discuss.
The Iowa caucuses demonstrated conclusively that the one thing Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum have in common is that 75% of GOP voters can’t stand them. And 20% of Iowa Republican caucus goers are still undecided.
Huntman gets the
Boston Globe endorsement.
Carl Wimmer is the
latest Patrick Henry caucus member to flee the Hill
The US House District 4 race gets more crowded
Utahns do not vote.
And
Matt Taibbi because he is always great!
